Debora Omari, owner and Director of Macomb Tutoring, has a proven track record in tutoring students in highly customized sessions since 1996. She has worked with a wide variety of learners of many ages, and holds a Master’s Degree in Education from Wayne State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Tufts University. Debora has successfully worked not only with mainstream students grades 1-12 in all foundational school subjects, but also with students with learning disabilities in reading and mathematics, as well as students with school accommodations for ADHD. In addition to her years of experience, she has undergone hundreds of hours of training in specialized one-to-one reading instruction, including:

  • Basic Orton-Gillingham Method (Structured Linguistics)

  • Advanced Orton-Gillingham Method (Greek and Latin Roots)

Debbie Dimattia (Ms. D) earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Elementary Education from Saginaw Valley State University. Before she began working at Macomb Tutoring, she was a highly effective classroom teacher for 22 years. She loved being a classroom teacher for all those years, but she decided to step back to help students who need a more personalized approach. Working at Macomb Tutoring allows Ms. D to tailor and apply her teaching skills to each student’s individual needs. While doing so, she can see her students’ progress, their growing confidence, and their improving grades. She finds this immensely rewarding, and she loves the thought that she has the privilege of being part of each student’s educational journey.

Kelly Isrow (Miss Kelly) brings over 32 years of teaching experience in both general and special education, with a special passion for early childhood and foundational learning. She earned her undergraduate degree in Education from the State University of New York, followed by a Master’s in Special Education Leadership from Oakland University, and an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum from Liberty University. Miss Kelly is an avid reader who loves sharing her enthusiasm for books with her students, sparking curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. Her tutoring session is a place where every child feels supported, inspired, and excited to learn about the world around them.

David Mangune (Mr. Dave) has been in education for 24 years. In that time, he has taught grades 3, 4, and 5. He has also helped teachers use technology in the classroom and been a principal. He currently teaches STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to kindergarten through fifth grade students. Mr. Dave holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Reading and Language Arts. He has a passion for teaching and really focuses on building strong, positive relationships with the students he teaches.
